Youth in Transition Services
We are pleased to announce expanded services for youth in transition!
In partnership with Maine’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, peer counselors are now available through Alpha One to assist students ages 14 – 24 experiencing any type of disability to achieve greater independence and tools for self-sufficiency.
Support from peer counselors will happen on-site at the school and may take the form of one-to-one mentoring or small group instruction.
The goal of these individualized services is to help prepare students for summer work experiences, employment and/ or readiness to work with a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor towards these goals. Emphasis is on assisting students to develop positive life-long habits and self-esteem as they prepare to transition from high school.
- Effective communication
- Internet safety
- Basic money management
