Alpha One has promoted independent living for people with disabilities in Maine for 30 years. This scholarship provides a $5000 award to 3 selected candidates for post-secondary school education, including both an undergraduate college education as well as a graduate program.

Alpha One is also please to announce the Derek O’Brien Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship  provides  a $5000 award to honor the memory of beloved Alpha One board member, Derek Hance O’Brien. This scholarship will be awarded to a Maine student with a significant physical disability who demonstrates the noble spirit, kind heart, and amazing resilience that Derek exemplified every day.
